Cake Pops
One of the fun aspects of being an Event Specialist at Abernethy Center is getting to see the unique, special touches that couples incorporate into their weddings. I love reading wedding blogs and talking to vendors and brides about fun ideas for decorations, food, or favors. Recently Elizabeth and I had the pleasure of meeting Amy who is the owner of Amy's Cake Pop Shoppe. Cake Pops, if you haven't had the opportunity to try yet, are essentially frosted cake on a stick with a lollipop appearance. They are extremely adorable and delicious-trust me, I couldn't help but try a sample or two.
Amy's cake pops come in many different cake flavors and several frosting coatings. As you can see in the photo, she is able to customize them with different colors, ribbons, sprinkles, and even charms. You can check out more photos on her Facebook page.
I love the idea of using cake pops as a favor for guests or as part of a dessert buffet. Dessert buffets are great option if a traditional wedding cake is not your style, or if you are like me and think the more sweets, the better.

The dessert table pictured above is off one of my favorite wedding blog sites Style Me Pretty. Their website showcases detailed photos from weddings, which can be a great source of inspiration. At this wedding they had a traditional wedding cake, cake pops, white chocolate covered pretzels, and even gum drops. You can have your cake, and eat your cake pops, too!
