Event Manager

Part-time: $15-$19/hour no service charges

Work Location: Abernethy Center 606 15th Street Oregon City

The best qualified candidate will have proven banquet/fine dining experience, specifically with the management, training and leading of banquet or food service staff. The preferred candidate would be a self-starter and highly energetic. Candidate must have demonstrated skills in service standards, guest relations and dining etiquette. As an Event Manager, you are responsible for managing all banquets and events within the campus to deliver an excellent guest and client experience.


Duties & responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Manage all Banquets/Events
  • Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
  • Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Maintain good communication and work relationships with all departments and with external customers and suppliers
  • Ensure staffing levels meet business demands
  • Hold pre-event meetings outlining service staff on event details and expectations
  • Ensure all details of event are executed per client’s request
  • Assign and manage staff duties throughout event
  • Ensure training is carried out on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure communication meetings are conducted and post-event form completed
  • Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Manage, train and develop the event staff team
  • Comply with company security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation



  • Degree in Hospitality or Culinary industry preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry
  • Supervisory and training experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, professional image and excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain composure while thinking on your feet
  • Possess excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
  • Ability in coordinating and overseeing numerous events simultaneously
  • Operational knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment
  • Obtain or hold a current Oregon Food Handlers Card
  • Familiar with OR State liquor laws
  • Obtain or hold a current Oregon Liquor Control Commission Service Permit
