Event Server

Part-time: $12-$15/hour no service charge

Availability: Must be able to work evenings/weekends

Work Location: Abernethy Center 606 15th Street Oregon City

The best qualified candidate will have proven banquet and/or fine dining experience, specifically regarding the set-up, service and breakdown of functions in a safe and accident-free manner. The preferred candidate would be a self-starter and highly energetic. Candidate must have demonstrated skills in service standards, guest relations and dining etiquette. Under general supervision, the candidate will provide prompt and courteous food service to customers.


Duties & responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Assist in setting up/breaking down buffet or special food service tables and equipment
  • Greet and serve guests following company policies/procedures
  • Remain attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, while adhering to/exceeding service standards
  • Attend all pre-event and departmental meetings in person to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service and facility
  • Present a clean and professional appearance and friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management


Performance Requirements

  • Lift trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. Up to 20-40lbs
  • Bend/kneel to lower level cabinets and lift trays
  • Move in narrow areas and between seated guests
  • Manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Follow verbal and written instruction
  • Use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations
  • Have ability to read, speak and write English



  • High School education or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar position
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, professional image and excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
  • Operational knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment including but not limited to coffee machines, ice machines, dishwashers
  • Obtain or hold a current Oregon Food Handlers Card as well as a current Oregon Liquor Control Commission Service Permit
