Bartender/Server

Part-time: $14 – $16/hour no service charge

Availability: Must be able to work evenings/weekends

Work Location: Abernethy Center 606 15th Street Oregon City

The best qualified candidate will have proven bartending and serving experience in a banquet and/or fine dining setting, specifically with the set-up, service and breakdown of the bar in a safe and accident-free manner. Candidate must have demonstrated skills in service standards, guest relations and dining etiquette. The preferred candidate would be a self-starter and highly energetic. Under general supervision, they will provide prompt and courteous beverage service to customers.

 

Duties & responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards
  • Ring guest checks, collects cash and processes credit cards in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures
  • Attend all pre-event and departmental meetings in person to enhance communications and gain knowledge of products, service and facility
  • Know and comply with state liquor laws
  • Present a clean and professional appearance at all times
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
  • Perform all guest contact in a cordial, efficient and professional manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management

 

Performance Requirements

  • Lift trays, dish racks, glass racks, etc. Up to 20-40lbs
  • Bend/kneel to lower level cabinets and lift trays
  • Move in narrow areas and between seated guests
  • Manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Follow verbal and written instruction
  • Use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations
  • Read, speak and write English
  • Accurately count cash and operate cash register

 

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Experience as serving in banquet and/or fine dining
  • Minimum of 2 years bartending experience
  • Operational knowledge of equipment including POS system
  • Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings
  • Must obtain or hold a current Oregon Food Handlers Card and Oregon Liquor Control Commission Service Permit
  • Bilingual preferred
