Wedding Wisdom: Let’s Talk About Wedding Stationery

Sending paper invitations is a time-honored wedding tradition, but for many couples, they serve a greater purpose than just presenting lucky invitees with the details of your big day. Your wedding stationery gives guests a little insight into who you are as a couple. Whether your wedding look is sleek and chic, wild and adventurous, vintage and charming, or cool and modern; stationery is a great way to get creative while introducing yourselves as an engaged couple to all your nearest and dearest!
I know electronic invites are popular, but honestly, I’m not a fan, and here’s why. We’re all inundated with so much electronic communication these days, you want your wedding invitation to stand out, not be part of the mundane notifications on someone’s phone, or worse sorted into the oblivion of Aunt Judy’s spam folder. A beautifully printed wedding invitation sets the tone for your celebration and is a keepsake your loved ones, and future self will treasure.
PRO TIP: When to send out those perfectly personalized paper goods
- Save the dates are usually sent 6-8 months (9 months for destination celebrations) before your wedding to give guests plenty of time to plan for travel, accommodations, and time off work.
- Invitations are sent 6 – 8 weeks before the big day, with a request for guests to RSVP no later than a month before the wedding.
